If you want it, you have to work for it.
How do you know you're working? It's when you're uncomfortable. We all naturally want the path of least resistance, it feels nice to be comfortable, but progress doesn't live in comfort, it actually lives as far away as possible from it.
Taking short cuts in life can actually take us a few steps back because we'll rarely end up where we wanted to go. The best way to the top is by taking the stairs. This is not the most comforting idea, but no one is here to promise you comfort. Anyone who is saying there's an easier way, is probably selling you something.
We need to re-evaluate our relationship with feeling uncomfortable. We need to realize that it's essential, whether that's in the gym, or in social settings, or in exploring new places in the world, or within ourselves. Don't avoid discomfort, that's where the magic is.
Start before you're ready, work despite the fears, make mistakes and learn from them. These are the simple mantras that are easy to understand but not so easy to implement. That's the path to great things, if it was easy, it wouldn't be worth doing.
